A ton of my peak destinations sit in the northern Idaho panhandle—rugged, remote, and a sometimes a bit sketchy. The summits tend to be either swallowed by trees or stripped bare. Thanks to the W7I point structure, these hard-won summits often earn just one or two points. The real payoff for bagging a northern Idaho peak comes from somewhere deeper—tucked inside the grind itself.
