Wow. We’re looking straight into the eyes of May. It’s 70-degrees here for the foreseeable future and I’m mostly stoked.
What doesn’t have my stoke, is May 21. I’m having wrist surgery. Surely, I’ll make another post all about that because it’s going to fuck my style for a few prime summer months… but life’s a bitch and then you die. As the stoics once said.
Last week I took my new 6×17 camera out to a field and snapped a few pics. User error messed up a couple but I did end up with this one… which still looks messed up but for a first try pointing straight into the sun, it’s actually not all that bad.
The camera is a CCB 6×17–a Kickstarter campaign that successfully presented me with a rather solidly engineered camera body that shoots panoramics on 120 film. I shot the above on Kentmere 200 and it’s really not all that bad if you look past that giant lens flare in the middle of the frame. That’s on me.
Anyways. There’s more to come on both fronts and this post is much ado about nothing.
Summer is shaping up, despite the Wrist Experience, I have some summit goals for late September into October. A condensed season, for sure, but I anticipate much fun and much success.
As of right now, I’m essentially working double-time trying to get ahead enough that I can vacate the job for three weeks while my wrist heals. While in recovery, I plan to:
- Read a couple of books
- Study for my HAM Amateur Extra license
- Visit my folks in AZ
- Watch a movie or three
Surely I could come up with more, but I suspect that I’m already being overly ambitious. This is going to be less fun than I anticipate.
So with that, I’m going to sign off for a bit. Will try to make one more update but my proper hand gets blown up.
