My second year of Summits on the Air was a solid effort. Along with dialing in my radio kit and just straight pumping up my numbers, the magnitude of mountains tackled was generally more impressive and technical. I bagged my first 10-pointer this year… three of them in three different states, in fact.
Also this year I resurrected the film camera collection and began documenting my activations in black & white. Something I need to do better about this year is keeping track of my film rolls; often a roll of 36 exposures would be started on one hike and wrapped up three hikes later. Determining which photos of trees and rocks matched up with which summit was it’s own special challenge.
Going into year three with 230 points is exciting. Not quite a quarter of the way to MG, not that I’m counting.
